STRINGS AFTER SUNDOWN

Ken Johnston

Ken Johnston

BlueWater’s sensuous strings take the stage in a program of works inspired by the night. Mozart’s famous “A Little Night Music,” is complemented by the Dvorak Nocturne for Strings and the orchestra version of Schoenberg’s romantic tone poem “Transfigured Night.” The group will be led from the concertmaster chair by Ken Johnston.

VOCAL VERVE

Scott MacPherson

Scott MacPherson

Scott MacPherson and the Cleveland Chamber Choir combine forces with BlueWater in its first program of major choral works. The festive Ascension Oratorio contrasts with Corigliano’s introspective cantata, set to a poem by Dylan Thomas. Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances for orchestra unites the two vocal masterpieces.
