Resonate Reinvention
Emotions soar throughout our February concert as “reinvented” works are highlighted. Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov incorporates the music of an accordionist into his melodious piece Sidereus. Bruckner’s Adagio, called “one of the deepest chamber works since Beethoven” is arranged for string orchestra by Lucas Drew. Prolific composer Vivaldi reworked his own material into the Concerto for Two Cellos. Capping the program are the ethereal tunes of Schubert’s Fifth Symphony. Daniel Meyer, Artistic Director of the Erie Philharmonic, conducts.
